Vintage Mid Century StarLight Pull-Down Disc Light Fixture Repair or Restore 50s
Black and gold metal "flying saucer" pull down light fixture
Made by StarLight, in the USA, #12399-4 (yellow sticker under ceiling plate)
Black metal disc is perforated, allowing diffused light to escape from the top
Light adjusts up or down via a winding pulley mechanism in the middle gold housing of the cloth pendant wire; this one is sticking--needs some work
Fixture is being sold as a repair and restoration project
Light fixture will need new wiring, pulley repair, glass disc shade, and pull-down ring finial
Takes two standard light bulbs
Circa 1950s-1960s
Fixtures measures 16.5" diameter, and cloth cord pulls down a little over 30" from ceiling, with about half of that length above the gold pulley housing and half below it
Weighs approx. 4 pounds

Condition:
Vintage mid century pull-down flying saucer light for repair or restoration. Metal disc and pulley cover in very good condition with light wear; some paint speckles, residue, and a few drips on black discs. Pulley mechanism is sticking--hard to get cord to release; needs repair and new wiring. Glass disc shade and pull-down ring finial are missing. Overall, excellent project piece with a little time and money; will be a fabulous mid century ceiling light fixture when restored.
