Condition:
Vintage upright document case in very good condition with the exception of one side of base (drop-down side?) detached due to dry-rotted leather strip at bottom. Large upright two-piece document case with tall base & lift-off lid. Normal wear, tear, and aged patina present. Document case might have been for use in transporting plans, blueprints and other large, lightweight documents by salesmen and businessmen. Finish wear and aged patina on all brass and metal parts. Some staining, scuffs, scratches, and marks throughout. Bottom loops present for strapping lid to base during travel, no straps present. Original mailing stickers and labels present in various states of deterioration. Fascinating vintage document travel case portrays a sense of what it was like for traveling businessmen and salesmen in days gone by. Beautiful decorative accent for many contemporary decors with the added benefit of being a useful storage bin.
