Leather-wrapped, trapezoid-shaped wooden block with silvertone metal stars and round thermometer insert; leather is deteriorated and missing in areas (one side and back almost gone), crackling, loose, and crumbling from age
Thermometer has a clear plastic covering, metal frame, and is stamped Made In USA; appears to keep temperature, but is a few degrees different than the room thermostat reading, so may not be accurate
Two silver metal stars decorate the front
Print stamp on bottom--unable to read
Art deco styling, circa 1930s-1940s
Thermometer measures approx. 3" wide x 3.75" deep x almost 1.5" thick

Condition:
Vintage desk top thermometer in good condition with wear from age and use. Leather-wrapped solid wood base with round thermometer insert and two decorative silvertone metal stars. Leather wrapping is deteriorated with significant losses, cracking, crumbling, and peeling. Plastic cover is yellowed. Temperature seems to be just a few degrees lower than what room thermostat reads. Nice vintage display for desk or table top.
